CUE Music welcomes an old friend, Romania-based DJ and producer Elchinsoul, whose love for underground music brings us a real treat with “Etherum”. Deep but melodic, driving but still subtle, the EP provides all these opposites in one carefully crafted pack which also includes a punchy remix signed by Fabian Weitz in collaboration with label head Sven Jaeger.
Drawing inspiration from Bacau’s underground electronic music scene, Elchinsoul made his debut as a DJ in 2004, performing at several venues around the country and delivering highly enjoyable and eclectic selections everywhere he went. He quickly realized that mixing was only one side of the coin so he started producing his first tracks, exploring different genres, from classic house or minimal to tech-house and techno. Throughout time, he collaborated with artists like Alexandros Dever, Bvaltik, Las Yeso, Petta, Angelo Draetta, Jules & Moss, Maiki, London Fm, Juan Zolbaran and DJ Crash, as well as with labels such as Purple Sun Records, Re:vibe Music, Paradiz, Crossworld, Quanticman and Voltaire Music, among others.
“Etherum” opens the release with a warm and breezy deep house sound, perfect for laid-back sessions or afternoon moments at any party. The ever-evolving arrangements and the steady-paced rhythm create a perfect combination as the track flows, sending the listener into introspective states of mind. This effect is further explored in Fabian Weitz and Sven Jaeger’s remix where the faster tempo and dubby reverberations intertwine into a hypnotic rotation best fitted for peak time sets. “Stars” concludes the journey with style, laying out smooth drumming patterns, mysterious background atmospheres and spacious breakdowns.
Pairing wonky synths with crisp samples, the California-born, Berlin-based producer specializes in minimal house with a carefree spirit.
